Hey everyone, it's Chrome here. I'm so excited because mom said I can enter the Mango Minster this year!! I decided to enter the Adventurous category because I've been doing a lot of fun things lately. Check out this video showing all of the things I did in 2011 for the first time.
I told you I did a lot of adventurous things this year!
As you saw I wore a surcingle for the first time . . . actually I'm really good at wearing things! I've worn a surcingle, bells, party hats, ribbons, halters, bridles, blankets, tarps, bags, etc. I'm so good I could probably totally pull off a tuxedo too. :D I can just imagine it!

Too funny, right? I also got to play with a four wheeler for the first time. I proved how adventurous and brave I am didn't I? I'm not scared of cars, trucks, vans, big moving trucks, trailers, tractors, etc. In fact, I'm so brave that I could probably face off with a backhoe without flinching!!

Oh yeah, I could totally do that! I also like trying new adventurous things like the ground driving, tire pulling and other things like jumping (not in the video). One of my favorite new, adventurous games was Chase the Tiger! Of course mom isn't brave and didn't use a real tiger, but have no doubt I could chase one of those too.

I could totally scare the kitty! In the video I also learned to climb up on a pedestal. Don't be fooled by my slow learning curve in the video, because after accomplishing the pedestal I can accomplish anything! I can even go on an adventurous climb like Mount Everest!!

Nothing phases this brave dude! And one of the last things I did last year was swimming in the pond. Okay, so I wasn't swimming because it wasn't that deep, but I could! Swimming is adventurous, especially if you're also surfing!!

Oh yeah!! I could totally surf! So, if I'm not one adventurous horse, then I have no clue what I am. :D Thanks for reading. My first show entry was a lot of fun! Mom did have to help me with the photo editing so we could show you my thoughts because I don't have fingers, but all the hard work was all me! :)
Thanks Mango for the opportunity to enter the famous Mango Minster!!
Chrome! Buddy! You are one nutty adventure horse for sure. I can see you already have a list of all the places you want to go and are practicing your adventure skills so you will be in top shape when you start your travels.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
How cute!!! Ok. I know you're not in the too darn cute category, but you could very well be! :)
ReplyDeleteWith his "sunkissed" looking tail, he would look awesome surfboarding. He looks athletic enough! :)
ReplyDeleteJust popped over to check out my fellow contestants in the Adventure Animal category.
ReplyDeleteWow, I had NO IDEA that I'd be up against a horse. And such a handsome and adventurous one at that.
Now I'm worried.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
WOW! We had no idea horses did clicker training and chased lures and stuff. Do Faran and Zep get to play, too? Zep sure looked like he wanted some of those treats when you were practicing getting up on the pedestal. You are a very adventurous dude. Good luck in the contest.
ReplyDeleteJed & Abby
Thank you all for your comments! Chrome is really excited about entering Mango Minster this year. :D
ReplyDeleteJed and Abby, I thought you had a blog, but I can't find it so I hope you see my response (and share your blog if you have one). Faran and Zep do get to play with the clicker training. Zep was raised his first three years with very little human contact so he's still learning to trust humans. The fact that he waits at my elbow for treats (and yes he gets them all the time) is a huge success. Faran was also a rescue who was abused so he has a lot of fear issues so we do his training separate because Chrome is too pushy. So yeah they all get their time to play and clicker train. :)
Oh and both Zep and Faran can follow a target (tennis ball on a dowel rod), but they aren't confident enough to play Chase The Tiger yet. We will get there though. :D
Wow, I am overwhelmingly impressed! It sure is a superb entry to Mango Minster!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous entry! You are one adventurous equine, Chrome! Unfortunately, the movie keeps buffering itself, but I'll come back to see if it will "show" itself later! Love your thought bubbles - you are awesome!

Hi Chrome, our Mommy loves horses she used to have one and she loved riding. Then she got married..............So now she just has cats and dogs. We all loved your entry. And we agree with our Mommy you are gorgeous. She is giving you virtual pats on the computer screen. Arty Mouse wants to know if she can ride you. She thinks the two of you could have some grand adventures together and since your legs are much longer then hers you could cover more ground.
ReplyDeleteChrome, thank you for agreeing to go on an adventure with me. Mommy is going to post a picture of us tomorrow. Hope that is OK with you. ~Kitty Kisses, Arty Mouse
ReplyDeleteare woo sure woo are not a dog?
ReplyDeleteWow! It's been so long since we've gotten to come for a visit and you've grown more and more beautiful (if that is possible!) You've learned a LOT, too! We can see how adventurous you are, listening and learning so that you can have bigger and BIGGER adventures! Grammy says she would vote for you! The Country Corgis
ReplyDeleteOkay Chrome, At first we're like,"what's the big deal about wearing a tarp?". Then we saw that it was a step to eventually wearing a saddle. We really knew ZIP about horsies and see it takes a lot more than we thought to learn to pull or wear something if you're a horse!! Mom just figured it was something that you were born knowing how to do! (Stupid Mom!! bol.) Good luck in MM2012.

Hi! We only just discovered your blog whilst looking through Mango Minster entries. We are four Abyssinian cats, one English Springer Spaniel and one PERCHERON stallion! We live in France, in the Perche area where the Percheron originated. It's great to meet you!
ReplyDeleteChrome,
ReplyDeleteYour pretty cool for a really really big dog. Mommy said your a horse. I don't think that I've ever seen a big horse dog before. Your neat. How many cups of dog food do you eat in a day?
Sally Ann
Thanks for visiting everyone!! I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteSally Ann, you would probably not like what I eat. I eat two pounds of ration balancer a day all year round, but in the winter since I live outside I get shredded beet pulp and oats. I also get a handful of flaxseed. :)
Chrome
You sure had a lot of great firsts, (well the tarp seemed undignified to us...lol). Best of luck to you in the contest.

ReplyDeleteLove to see the clicker training my person tries to do with me translates to all of my furry friends!!
Will check in with your more!
