Chrome's New Trick Video!!

Check out Chrome's new trick!!  He's only had one session yesterday (for less than five minutes) and this is how well he's doing today (we started filming from the beginning; we hadn't practiced at all today until this video)!  He's sooooo smart!!



Isn't he so cute!  I have a couple of ideas for some other easy tricks I want to teach so keep an eye on his blog.  :D

Chrome's New Trick & More Pictures of my Friend's Horse (real pictures this time, not cell phone!)

I taught Chrome a new trick!!!  Okay, so we've only worked on it once, but he's already offering it on his own.  :D  I guess the video I posted inspired me hehe.  However I'm going to be cruel and not tell you what it is until I get a video.  And so you aren't all upset with me for the cliffhanger here are some pictures for you to enjoy.  After getting those pictures with my cell phone of my friend's horse I decided to take my actual camera this time.  I'm thrilled with how they turned out!  Isn't he so gorgeous and photogenic??

 I don't like how I did the copyright on this one.  It ruins the feel of the picture.  Sorry it was late and I was tired.  He's still cute though!

 The two (second and fourth) horses looking at me belong to my friend.  They know me hehe.

I LOVE the bay's trot!  He's my favorite to ride.  The mare is my friend's best friend.  She's awesome!

And one last shot of her mare.  I like how the sun is shining on one side of her face.

Chrome's Monthly Progress Report

 Note:  The picture was taken on the eighteenth and the measurements today on the twenty first.  Sorry about that.


Date: 9-21-12
Age: 3 Years 4 Month
Height: 15.2hh (He's just a hair shy of 15.2hh.  Close enough for me.)
Height Gain: None.
Weight:  Measurements of 71 for his heart girth and his length measurement of 73, so according to the Equine Weight Calculator he weighs 1115lbs.
Weight Gain: None.

Progress:  The Neem oil seems to be helping with the sweet itch, so finger crossed we can prevent it from happening at all next year.  :)  We worked on longeing a little bit, but things have been BAD at work lately so I haven't felt like doing anything.  I'm so ready for things to return to normal....

 Goals: I would like to work on longeing and ground driving, but it will depend on the weather and my job really. 

Photo Shoot With Chrome

 First I got all dressed up.  Is it weird that I always dress better for photo shoots with Chrome than I do to go out?  Hehe.

 

 Then we took some test shots to find the right place (as far as lighting) and my pretty turkey hen showed up to say hi.

 Once I chose my spot all I had to do was wait.  Chrome's curiosity immediately brought him over.

This one was blurry so I played around with it in a photo editor.  :)

 

 

 And then Chrome decided the rock must be a pedestal and could earn him treats.  I did not ask him to step up on it.  :D

 I was leaning against him and he stepped sideways which nearly sent me tumbling lol.

 

 

 Chrome is all smiles.

Quality isn't great on this one, but I like it too much to leave it out.

 

 

  

And for those of you who aren't crazy about his haircut, I decided to share my hair with him.....

 LOL!  I didn't have enough to go all the way up his neck though.  :D

 

 So Chrome returned the favor and let me wear his hair too LOL!

 He was innocently looking for persimmons when he suddenly looked up with this evil expression, flipped his tail and took off across the pasture at a flat out gallop.....

 I promise he isn't about to fall down, he was just running downhill lol.

 Trotting to me.  I love how high he picked up his knee because the grass was so tall.  :)

 He was shaking his head while galloping... look at that eye LOL!
