EJBH: Winter Tips Blog Hop

I thought of another blog hop subject, so I decided to make a blog hop banner.  :D  I haven't done any photo editing in a long time so I'm out of practice, but I took a picture of Chrome, turned him into a silhouette, added words and bits and there you go.  I hope you like it!

I was going to ride today, but I got held up at work and then busy with chores and ran out of time.  *pout*  So instead I decided to do another blog hop.  This one is winter tips!  Do you have any great winter tips to share?

One of my favorites is for hauling buckets of water, instead of carrying them, use a wagon or wheelbarrow.  To prevent the water from spilling as you bounce over rocks or grass, put a trash bag in your bucket, fill with water and then tie your trash bag closed.  Pull the wagon to wherever you need the water, untie the bag and there you go!  A full bucket of water and a dry wagon.

The other one is for snow.  If the snow balls up in your horse's hooves (I call it snow stilettos) you can cover the bottom of the hoof in cooking spray (like Pam non-stick cooking spray).  It will prevent the snow from balling up!!  We don't get a lot of snow, but I have tried it and it works great.

I look forward to hearing some of your winter tips!

    2. Yep, you stole my tip! "Move to Miami." ;-) Well, I would be happier up in Wellington, despite the slightly colder temps, but I'll take what I can get!

  3. We warm our bits up before riding with a hair dryer. Warms our hands, too.

    1. Thanks for joining!! Your post looks great. I think you got it all figured out. :D I love your answers!!

P.S. Since you put them both together it's fine if you only want to add it to the most recent one. :)

    1. Thank you!!! I'm glad they are helpful. :) Using a trash bag to haul water comes in handy at any time if you have to haul water, but most people only have to in the winter. It's been hugely helpful to me.
