TOABH: Sugar Momma
Okay this is another awesome blog hop by Beka. So much fun!! Sugar Momma.
Let's continue pretending that horse poop magically transforms into money instead of the other way. So money doesn't matter. If you could buy anything for your horse, what would you buy?
First things first. I would buy the adjoining property from all of my neighbors so he would have more acreage. Then I would make a better pond, fix drainage issues, make a pasture paradise, set up for cutting my own hay, build some hills for working those pesky stifles, build a barn and also build a covered riding arena. I would build him one of those swimming pools for horses to work his stifles in case the building hills thing doesn't work lol.
Then I would buy a new truck and trailer with living quarters, a new dressage saddle and dressage lessons (with extra lessons for me on a schoolmaster). I would even consider putting him in full time training to help us out with this whole green on green thing (I'm green in dressage, not horses). We would also take lessons in fun things like sidesaddle and working equitation. Once we know what the heck we're doing I would go to all sorts of dressage shows and competitive trail rides (because money can buy confidence and cure stage fright right?). :) That of course means I would have to have nice riding clothes and boots and stuff too!
I would have a really good barefoot trimmer assess his feet and fix them. I would have all of his joints x-rayed, but especially his stifles. I would have every test known to man done to figure out the cause, prevention or treatment of his sweet itch. If that failed I would build him a huge barn covered in mosquito netting so he could stay in it bug free during the summer lol. The barn would also have a concrete wash stall with hot and cold water so I wouldn't have to wash him on my freaking driveway. It would also have those awesome heat lamps for drying horses in the winter.
I would buy a cart and harness and find a trainer to teach us to drive. I would buy him his very own miniature horse because I totally know he wants one. ;) He would have a chiro and a massage therapist or bodyworker. I would have fancy barding made for him so we could go to SCA events looking awesome. Oh and I would haul him to a beach for a week of fun. :D
For Zep, I would get him gelded (by the best equine surgeon in the world so there's less risk of something going wrong...) and his hooves done by the barefoot person. I would build him a stall with a run so I could keep him put up until I get him tamed down. Once tamed down I would buy him packing gear, camping gear and driving gear. That might be a bit overly ambitious, but I'm pretending he turns into a total pet with all of this money I suddenly have LOL!
Well, that's all I can come up with off the top of my head hehe. Sorry for the double post. I was going to save this for later, but I got started writing it and now I just have to share it. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
It would be dream farm time, right? I'd hire a trainer to work Baron on the days I can't - he needs it!
ReplyDeleteMonty and Harlow
I wish I lived closer to you! I would exercise him for free for you hehe. :D
DeleteAll of that is off the top of your head?!
ReplyDeleteSounds amazingly thought out & structured to me...i guess I don't dream big enough or quickly enough lol. My brain must be on a go-slow in these subzero temps brrrrr
LOL!!! Maybe I need to move to your subzero temps because I can't ever get my brain to slow down or shut up. :) I wrote this whole post in less than five minutes. I was worried it would look kind of thrown together!
DeleteWow our brains are on opposite ends of the spectrum - mine needs poking from time to time to see if it still functions ;-)
DeleteLOL!!!!!!!! Poke!
DeleteOhhh I love the bug netted barn idea. Ginger has sweet itch too and would love one of those!
ReplyDeleteI've seriously thought about doing it because he's so miserable in the summer but I don't know if I could make it work with the barn we have. I'm not sure what he would think about being locked up all night either....
DeleteWhat are you doing for Ginger's sweet itch? I don't know how to find if you have any posts about it on your blog.
Deleteoooh great list! more property would be awesome always haha
ReplyDeleteYes definitely! I miss the thirty acres we were leasing at the old place. Chrome didn't have problems with his stifles then because the whole thing was on a gradual slope.
