Comparison Pictures

I was talking to a friend and we were sharing pictures... somehow I saw these two next to each other and my jaw hit the floor.  The difference in three years (well a couple months shy of three years) is crazy!!

Edited to add: I just saw these too!!

Me trotting him in November 2013.

Me trotting him yesterday!

Wow!  My seat in the Aussie saddle has definitely improved!!  Look at how much his muscles have changed in a year!  His butt is huge compared to that first picture!

  1. That first picture was taken in January 2012 only two months after he was gelded. You can see the difference in his neck now.

  3. awesome that you caught the trot phase exactly right in the two photos. it really irritates me when people try to compare and it's not the same phase - um, like..mine....

    1. Isn't it crazy?? I'm always amazed at how much his color has changed. I don't notice it day to day as much as when I see old pictures. It's weird how he's going so light all over his body at once and also dappling out. It would have been neat if he was a really dark dappled gray, but it's okay. This color is fun too! I love watching him change!!

    1. It is a huge difference!! I was blown away when I saw them side by side. He was so scrawny looking a year ago. It's no wonder his stifles were such a problem and he felt like such a baby! All of our long walking trail rides have made a huge difference in his muscling. I can't wait to see what he looks like after a summer of lots of long rides. :D

Thank you for the compliment on my riding too. I wasn't expecting to see that either. You're right, I do look so much more relaxed in the recent picture. I think it was because I was having so much fun in the snow I stopped worrying about how either of us was moving and what we were doing. :D

    1. Thank you!! Me too!! I was totally shocked to see the difference in my riding. I have been so stuck in my head thinking there was no way I could improve without taking lessons again, but I'm glad to see once I got the saddle figured out my body kind of remembered what to do on it's own. I can't wait to take lessons now just to see how much more we can improve! I love having these pictures to see the improvements because I'm so hard on myself.
