The other bit of news is that I walked to within about twenty feet of Zeppelin when he was laying down and he didn't get up! I was very surprised because normally he's quick to get to his feet. It think he's finally getting used to us. I can't wait until he's tame enough to let us approach him anytime. He now accepts nicker maker treats from my hand. :) That's all for today.

Oh congrats on starting to gain Zeppelin's trust. I was so happy that I was actually able to lead Sophie out of the pen and around to the barn with out much fuss today. It takes awhile to gain a donkey's trust, they really make you earn it, but then you feel you really accomplished something. Ya know. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always neat when a new animal starts to trust you and you get to know them, too. I'm sure that Chrome is happy to have a buddy, too. I tends to make it a bit harder to separate them during training periods, etc., but I think it is still more important for their total peace of mind to have herd animals together and not lonely for company.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant that he will take treats from your hand :)
ReplyDeleteZep just needs to get used to all the new stuff. It is great that he and Chrome are pals. That is the most important. Sounds like he is a soccer donkey in the making.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,

Cool update on the new living arrangements. Looking forward to the next one.
