Here are the rules: Answer one or all of the prompts. Link back to Living a Dream's post. Visit other blogs. And don't forget to ask a question of everyone else!
1. Have you ever been a victim of the weather when you were riding, or participating in some other sport? I'm having trouble thinking of anything. I'm pretty sure I've been caught out in the rain while riding (and even intentionally rode bareback in the rain), but I can't really think of any specific story . . . I do remember riding in the snow for the first time. We had so much fun! We played hide and seek, following the hoof prints in the snow. :) That wasn't really being a victim of the weather though. I guess I'm a fair weather rider.
2. If you could take a lesson with anyone in the world, who would that be? I would just be happy taking lessons from my trainer again! I miss it so much. We know each other really well and are good friends so I'm most comfortable with her. I think if I tried to have a lesson with someone else I would be so nervous I wouldn't learn anything lol!
3. Which season is your favorite? I would have to say summer!! I can't stand winter (cold, rain, mud, lack of sunlight which makes my vitamin d deficiency symptoms worse), spring is scary because of tornadoes and you still have to deal with rain and mud (at least it's not cold!), fall is really nice and I do love it (without the horrible allergies), but summer is definitely the best. It's warm, sunny, very little rain, long daylight hours, awesome. Just love it. Sure it gets too hot and we have to deal with pests (flies, ticks, mosquitoes), but I'll take that over too cold. :D
What is your favorite quality in a horse? It can be anything relating to conformation, temperament, personality, training, breed, etc. Looking forward to hearing your answers! I'll post mine in a day or two.
My favorite quality has to be personality. I have met some horses that are just sooo boring. Others are so animated, it is hilarious. I am still in awe by the range and differences in personalities that horses can have!
ReplyDeleteI'll go ahead and answer my question so I don't forget to like I did last time.
ReplyDeleteConfidence!!! I love a confident horse. A horse who wants to try anything and everything at least once and forges bravely ahead into new adventures. :D I love a horse that I can run up to and jump around or do silly things and not scare him. I'm lucky to have found that in Chrome!!
A calm, consistent, and honest temperament combined with an attitude that is willing to please. I just described Misty.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fair weather rider too. But recently my trainer suggested we practice our circles in the snow because we can really see if our circle is a circle...or if it is more like an oval or a kidney bean.
Once Upon, that is such a great idea about riding in the snow! Sadly, we don't really get snow here so I can't do that, but I bet mud would work too lol.
ReplyDeletePersonality. That's probably why I prefer mares over geldings.
ReplyDeleteAs for riding in the snow - I love it. Mostly. I've found that if I ride bareback and put my duster on, Estes acts as a heater and I stay nice and toasty. Only my fingers and toes get cold. I don't like to ride in the wind and cold, which is why winter riding is not necessarily my favorite time of year.
